“I AM AN ADVOCATE
I am qualified in Nigeria but my dream is to become a successful international shipping lawyer able to work in several jurisdictions.
Taking a Masters in Maritime Law at Swansea University is helping me become a global graduate, ready for a role in the international legal market.
The modules I take are rich and stimulating and the devotion of excellent tutors has had a real impact on my grades. There is, however, so much more here to help me develop.
The multi-cultural nature of the university is inspiring. It has enabled me to foster relationships that transcend race, culture, nationality and religious beliefs. It has made me more accepting of people different from me and this is empowering.
My dream has always been to be a catalyst inspiring positive change through my enthusiasm and energy. I am ambitious but I want these qualities to shine through in my work.
As a student representative of my college, bridging the gap between tutors and students, and a student ambassador on open days, I had a great sense of accomplishment at being able to help others along the way.
I applied to several universities but Swansea replied first and was the friendliest. That was important to me. When I first arrived even the taxi driver was nice, stopping his meter while I shopped for bedding. It was at that moment I knew I had found a place I could call home.
Home is a place where you find warmth, joy, laughter, comfort. A place where you can express yourself, learn and become a better person. I have found all these and more in Swansea.”

It was at that moment I knew I had found a place I could call home.
