“I AM A GAME CHANGER
Without Swansea University I wouldn’t be where I am today – in my dream job managing all media and broadcast operations for the Wales National Football Team.
With great timing, I graduated in 2011 just as Swansea City FC was promoted to the top flight. It was here I started my career as the club’s Media Officer. But I wouldn’t have been ready to take the position without the opportunities and experience I gained at university.
Swansea doesn’t just turn out graduates, it wants to produce young people equipped for the world of work and ready to realise their potential. I joined Waterfront, the student newspaper, halfway through my second year and became Sports Editor, winning two media awards and carrying out a number of high-profile interviews.
I also co-wrote an online blog, did three work placements, including one at the Swans and one at the local newspaper, and still managed to earn a degree in history. During my time at Swansea I was a student ambassador for the History Department, speaking to prospective students about the many positives the campus and city has to offer. Now, as a member of the Alumni Association, I return to give regular careers talks to help students land employment in what can be a tough climate.
I may have achieved one of my dreams straight after graduating, but I still have many ambitions. I want to travel to different countries and experience new cultures. I also want to write a book one day.
Making the decision to study at Swansea University was an easy one, and one that turned out to be the best I ever made.”

I am in my dream job, following my dream team.
